是真？是假？陈旧的皮包！夜晚的弃婴！“谎言”与“爱情”的抉择“I love you, or your name？”“真诚”与“虚伪”的闹剧“I lied so that I had the opportunity to meet you！”一切由一枚香烟盒揭开真相......

 

 

 

 

 

近日，国际高中高一年级学生在学术报告厅上演了英国著名作家Oscar Wilde的戏剧作品《The Importance of Being Earnest》。同学们用流利的口语，精湛的演技，为大家呈现了一场精彩的演出！

作品介绍

 

 

 

《The Importance of being Earnest》是王尔德最经典的戏剧作品，被誉为英国现代喜剧的奠基之作，王尔德的名言大半是从这部戏说出来的。在这部戏中，王尔德的观点新颖，风格鲜明，在创作上运用丰美的辞藻与华丽的修辞，以绝妙的想象力融入极富于音乐性的文句，并将唯美主义和现实主义的社会批评倾向巧妙结合，讽刺社会，映射人心。可以说，这部喜剧作品最能体现王尔德的才华读来琅琅上口，亦庄亦谐，百余年来，一直深受读者喜爱，也无数次被搬上舞台，并两次被拍成电影上映。

经过寒假的个人阅读、小报制作、班级排演、年级选拔、剧组成立、分组排练，在为期近一个月的阅读与表演体验中，所有高一年级同学不仅经历了一场文化之旅，更在团结合作中实现了自我突破！

 

 

 

 

 

值得一提的是，表演之后的颁奖环节，老师们特意邀请到了现就读于国际部高二年级、去年该剧的导演和演员为新一届高一的学弟学妹们颁奖。相较于去年，今年新增了五名最佳幕后工作者的奖项，这是对幕后默默付出同学的巨大肯定！

 

让我们看看同学们都有怎样的收获吧：

每一位演员的表演都可圈可点，堪称完美，使本次表演取得了满堂彩！与此同时，幕后工作者的努力也不可忽视：熬夜编排ppt，置备道具，挑选服装，反反复复斟酌修改台词……他们默默支撑着舞台上的一切，是剧场背后的英雄。

这次戏剧表演活动让我体验了一把同时当编剧和导演的不易。刚开始选演员和角色时，我有些沮丧，不甘心自己只能做幕后这样看似“无足轻重”的人物，于是在改编完剧本后主动加入到“导演”的行列里。但是随着与演员、剧本相处的时间越长，我越发觉这两个角色的重要性。一部完整的戏剧是导演、编剧以及一切幕后工作者努力的终极体现。而我在台下欣赏时感受到了深深的自豪，仿佛在台上肆意绽放的是自己。

As one of the directors of Act 2 of this play, I gained a lot from this event. My partners and I, from revising the script to discussing actions, from differing opinions to deep integration, worked eight days to present a brilliant and unparalleled performance. We contributed our spare time to rehearsals, and the teacher also provided us with great help. On the day of the official performance, watching the actors and actresses shining brightly on stage, I felt that all the efforts were worth it.

Though the process may be sometimes tough, I acquired an enjoyable and interesting time with my classmates. I could feel a sense of identity while showing myself to the audience, and definitely their praise, or even a smile can be of great support to me. Meanwhile, there is still a lot for me to improve since I am still lack of experience, but that would be one of the main reasons for me to take part in the show as well – trying to become confident and leaving some impressive memory during my teenage age.

On the final day, before we performed on the stage, we cheered up and encouraged each other. As a result, we finally achieved success. I really felt proud of myself. I think this stage gave me a chance to know the importance of teamwork. All of us felt the great happiness after our hard work!

I played ‘Merriman’ in the show. The time I spent with actors and actresses on the show is absolutely meaningful and unforgettable. Although I was not the leading role, I felt really proud and excited when I saw my friends showing their best to audiences and I was glad to help to complete the show. Playing dramas improves our comprehensive skills. We can gain knowledge in a more interesting way.

I think it was a really fantastic show! All my classmates and students did a good job! Particularly the student who played the role as Bracknell in Act One. He had a deep understanding about this character, including Bracknell’s personality, actions and atitude to Jack and Gwendolen. He used rich body languages to bring us a vivid performance. All the students should be appreciated not only for their terrific performance, but also their courage and confidence. It was definitely a good try!

I really enjoyed the show. Such a perfect performance cannot be achieved without the efforts of the actors and actresses on stage and the staff behind the scene. I often see actors reciting lines and rehearsing in their spare time, which really touches me. I think this show not only practices our English, but also lets us realize the importance of cooperation.

Using drama as a medium for English learning was an excellent choice. It provided a unique opportunity to engage with the language in a practical context. Watching the actors and actresses perform live helped improve pronunciation, vocabulary and overall comprehension. It also made learning enjoyable and memorable as emotions and expressions were conveyed through body language and innovation. It was a delightful and entertaining drama show.

Generally, I think the play is a very fantastic and fascinating performance, for its appreciable crew scale and exquisite preparation. There are a few highlights that I want to point out. Take PPT for instance. The 4 external screens hanging on the wall were effectively used to show dual-language subtitles to the audiences, ensuring their comfortable experience. Also, the whole play was cut to 3 acts with different actors and actresses, which not only diminished their pressure of reciting the script, but also enhanced the accuracy of reciting during the play. Although there were some minor problems, the play this year undoubtedly improved a lot and can be called a masterpiece.
